EXCLUSIVE: Cesena confirm Milan, Napoli interest for the new Verratti
Mr. Foschi, is there any possibility of seeing Sensi joining a Serie A side in January?
“This is not the first time that we've had to say that Sensi is not for sale. He’s very young, but he needs more tranquility, not to hit the headlines every day. He has amazing technical skills but I don’t like what’s happening to him right now [too much attention by Italian media]. He will grow up in this club and we don’t want to instigate an auction, we are not interested in it at the moment. We just want the player to be relaxed and focused.”
Any chance for Fiorentina to sign the player and loan him back to Cesena until the end of the season?
“Fiorentina have never asked me information about him.”
But are they interested?
“I am really in good terms with Daniele Pradé [Fiorentina’s sporting director]. I talk with him every week, but we have never spoke about Sensi. I think they like him because he’s a great player, but lot of teams like him too.”
What about Milan?
“Milan and Napoli have scouted the player more than once this year. Not only games, but also training sessions. If a big team want a player they want to be 100% sure. They also want to know the way he works day by day. Said that, there is only an interest and we have not held transfer talks with either Napoli or Milan. Caldara is another very interested player whose performances are regularly monitored.”
Kessie is another interesting prospect. Is it true that some Bundesliga teams want to sign him?
“We have the youngest team in Serie B, I am really proud of it. Kessie is playing very well too, he’s going through some highs and lows like everyone here, because we are a really young team and our fans need to understand it. We are in good terms with Atalanta. I gave them some very interesting players over the last few seasons, but now they are doing the same with us: think about Kessie, Caldara and Kone, who we have also signed on a permanent basis.”
