EXCLUSIVE: Between Inter and Juventus, the truth about Berardi
As CM.com transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano points out, Juventus’ verbal agreement to sign Berardi expires this summer. The Old Lady wants to extend the option to buy the player for one more season, but Sassuolo want to formalize the agreement putting it on paper otherwise they will be free to negotiate the transfer of Berardi with any other suitor from the next summer.
Why the next summer? Because the neroverdi President Squinzi believes he can keep Berardi for one more season.
Inter, however, have yet to give up on the player. They will make an official offer if Berardi forces his exit from the club, something that the winger is currently not open to do because he respects his club and feels like asking for transfer would be unfair at this stage.
Berardi doesn’t mind spending one more season at the club, he is no rush over his future but Juventus don’t want to ‘lose their control’ on the hottest Italian prospect of his generation.
