EXCLUSIVE: AC Milan open talks with Keisuke Honda over contract extension

Keisuke Honda’s contract with Milan expires in June 2017, but the Diavoli want to extend the Japan International’s stay at the San Siro, CM.com’s Federico Zanon reveals.

Honda, 29, joined Milan as a free agent in January 2014 and he’s on a € 2.5 million deal at the San Siro.

He Japan International seems to have finally settle in well after too many up and downs over the first couple of seasons at the club. Sinisa Mihajlovic plays him on a regular basis and having him under contract allows the Serie A club to cash in € 1.2 million a year  in merchandising revenues.

The former CSKA Moscow star is a great professional who works very hard and has showed a winning mentality this season. Milan believe Honda deserves to be confirmed, so much so Adriano Galliani has already called the player’s brother and agent Hiro to open contract extension talks.
