Everyone wants Gabriel Jesus: all the clubs interested
Yesterday’s edition of Sport reported that Barcelona had made an offer of € 19 million (plus € 5 million bonus) for the player, though Palmeiras’ sporting director Alexandre Mattos denied contacts with the blaugrana shortly after.
On the other hand, the player’s agent Cristiano Simoes has confirmed that Juventus met Gabriel Jesus’ entourage a couple of weeks ago. Palmeiras would like to keep their starlet until December 2016 at least. The player has a double release clause on his contract. The first one is set to € 40 million, the second one to € 24, but only five European clubs have the right to activate it: Manchester United, Bayern Munich, PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Juventus and Man City are the only clubs to have taken concrete steps for the player’s transfer. Juventus’ € 25 million offer was rejected last month. Palmeiras could sell him for less than the release clause (probably for a transfer fee in the region of € 35 million) and Juve could put on the table € 30 million in the next few weeks. The bianconeri are running out of time as the competition is becoming fierce. Man City have reportedly offered € 21 million as well. The race to sign Gabriel Jesus has just begun.
