Everton, Koeman calls Rooney: "I would be delighted to take him"
During his press-conference ahead of his team’s weekend clash against West ham United, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has been speaking about the possibility of bringing Wayne Rooney back to Goodison Park. The former Dutch playing legend explained that; “He is a great player and his career is far from over. I’m not aware of what the current situation is between the player and Manchester United and it’s not my problem. Of course, if there was a chance to bring Rooney here I would be very happy”.
Whether a January move for the 30-year-old England captain remains a credible option remains to be seen but despite recent declarations by his Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho that the Red Devils “Would never sell him”, the man from Croxteth is facing what is probably the biggest crisis in his career. Recent reports have also suggested that his former coach at England, Sven-Goran Eriksson, has offered him a lucrative deal to move to the Far-East and join him at Shanghai SIPG.
