EURO 2016, Italy: Predicted line-up and team updates ahead of Germany clash
Daniele De Rossi is also very likely not to be part of the starting XI tomorrow as he picked up an injury against Spain. The AS Roma midfielder, however, has trained normally with the rest of the squad in the second part of the training today.
He will try to recover, but Stefano Sturaro is ready to replace him in front of defence being De Rossi’s natural replacement Thiago Motta suspended for tomorrow’s game.
In the meantime, Eder has spoken to Italian media ahead of the azzurri departure for Boudreaux which is scheduled for today at 6pm.
“I am 100% Italian. I live in this country since very long time. I can consider myself as a Brasilian player who has learned the Italian game.”
“Against Spain we decided to press them high the pitch, forcing the goalkeeper to make long passes, we knew we could regain the ball possession easily that way thanks to our midfielders and defenders.”
“We did the same in the last friendly game against them in Udine, we knew it would have worked.”
“We’ve reaped the rewards of our work. We were hopeful before the game, but we knew it would not be enough. We don’t want to stop now.”
PREDICTED LINE-UP:
