Empoli star Leandro Paredes looking forward to coming back to AS Roma
The Argentinean playmaker has emerged as one of the most promising prospects in Serie A this term, even if he started the season as a benchwarmer at Empoli.
However, his stocks has raised pretty quickly, so much so he’s now a mainstay at the Castellani. Paredes, 21, has played 25 games in Serie A this term, scoring two goals and registering one assist.
“I learned a lot when I was at AS Roma”, the product of Boca Juniors academy told Il Corriere dello Sport.
“However, I was not happy because I didn’t play as much as I am doing at Empoli. I am happy to come back to AS Roma next season. That has always been my objective.”
“I like my new role [central midfielder in front of defense]. Giampaolo has decided to play me in that position and luckily it has gone pretty well.”
“I want to carry on playing in front of defense, I want to improve. Pirlo was the best in that role, but I also admire Sergio Busquets and Toni Kross.”
