Elia stuck in Turin
Eljero Elia is finding it incredibly difficult to settle in at Juventus but the Dutch winger won't be allowed to join any other club in the season 2011-12 since he has already played for two teams in the current campaign.
The player joined Juventus from Hamburg in the summer but for the German outfit he made four Bundesliga appearances (against Borussia Dortmund, Hertha Berlin, Bayern Munich and Koln). This means that according to the FIFA regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players, Elia will not be able to play for another club before June 2012.
“Players may be registered for a maximum of three clubs during the period from 1 July until 30 June of the following year. During this period, the player is only eligible to play in Official Matches for two clubs.”
As a result, the 9M Euros boy is stuck in Turin and clearly unhappy with the current situation. On Saturday night, after the Lazio-Juventus which Elia watched from the Olimpico stands having been excluded from the bench even, the player used his Twitter to reveal his disappointment as he wrote the single word “angry” on his official profile. But as it stands, the shared desire to depart ways, Elia is going no where.
