Draxler: 'I agreed to Juventus move, but clubs couldn't agree on terms'

It's been a brilliant season for Juventus, but this particular anecdote may lead them to put their heads in their hands.

Turns out German star Julian Draxler was closer to a move to Juventus than many thought.

"There were a number of conversations in August about [the move], Draxler told
Gazzetta.it, "I'd agreed to the move, but the clubs needed to agree on the terms".

"The two clubs couldn't agree to terms. At the last minute Wolfsburg sold De Bruyne to Manchester City and contacted me to replace him. Had the negotiations with Juventus been shorter I'd be in Turin now".

The talented 22-year-old has netted five goals this season with Wolfsburg, but Juventus were alleged to have balked on the deal because of the high price demanded by Schalke.

"I'd have enjoyed playing with a team this good, with players like Pogba and Dybala"

"Here in Wolfsburg the atmosphere is calmer, more serene, even the media presence is more tolerable. That's why I chose to move here, to develop more calmly. I'm convinced that I made the right decision in coming here".
