Donnarumma set for first senior Italy national team call up
U-21 Italy national team boss Gigi di Biagio did not add the 17-year-old goalkeeper in the squad’s list for games against Serbia and Andorra and the reason behind Di Biagio’s decision is Donnarumma’s call-up to Italy national team.
Donnarumma made his Serie A debut last term, when the at-the-time boss Sinisa Mihajlovic started the promising goalie in place of experienced Diego Lopez.

Ventura will call Donnarumma in place of Salvatore Sirigu who spent the last season warming PSG’s bench, though the Italian goalkeeper has just completed a move to Sevilla.
Donnarumma’s set to follow Gigi Buffon’s path. The Juventus legend made his debut with senior Italy national team when he was very young, though he had already turned 18 when Cesare Maldini replaced Gian Luca Pagliuca with the former Parma goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of a Russia clash.
Donnarumma, 17, becomes the youngest player to get Italy national team call up in the last 105 years.
