De Boer takes his tactical revenge on critics with stunning win against Juventus
Before this evening’s Juventus clash, Inter had allowed 1.5 goals per game in all competitions and the nerazzurri could only show little of their potential. De Boer’s poor knowledge of Italian football and his insufficient knowledge of the Italian language were considered among the main reasons for the Dutchman’s embarrassing start to the season: four points out of three Serie A games and an unexpected 2-0 defeat at hands of Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Europa League on Wednesday night.
De Boer, however, took revenge on critics with some tactical decisions that stunned Juventus and helped the nerazzurri to snatch a key win against Inter’s hatred rivals.

Impressively, he placed Gary Medel in front of Paulo Dybala to avoid the Argentinean taking easy passes and run towards Handanovic’s goal. With Allegri who also decided to play Miralem Pjanic behind Inter’s half, Juventus struggled to build the action from the back as the former AS Roma midfielder was left too far from Inter's goal and midfielders in front of him (especially Asamoah) are lacking of quality and dynamism.
Banega and Joao Mario organized perfect counter attacks, so much so Inter had created more goal chances than Juventus even before Stephan Lichtsteiner’s opener. In addition to that, Joao Miranda and Jaison Murillo took the breathe away to Mario Mandzukic who did not register one single goal on target.

In the end, how not to mention the man of the match? Mauro Icardi’s performance was just brilliant. He not only did score the equalizer seconds after Lichtsteiner’s goal had given Juventus the lead, but he also registered the assist for Ivan Perisic’s equalizer.
The Croatian had just replaced Eder. Another correct decision took by Franck De Boer. Inter’s next target? Reproducing these performances also against smaller sides, but Inter have now plenty of self confidence to do so.
