Davide Santon refuses to join Sunderland: here’s why
The two clubs were thought to have reached agreement over the transfer of the 25-year-old fullback but the Black Cats denied through their official website that the two parties had agreed a transfer fee for the former Newcastle man.
Calciomercato.com has learned that Davide Santon underwent medical with the Premier League side today, but refused to get a pay cut if Sunderland would be relegated to the Championship next season.
In the meantime, the nerazzurri have announced the signing of Gianluca Caprari from Pescara. The product of AS Roma academy will stay at his old club on loan for the entire duration of the 2016-17 campaign.
