Could Inter do another Shaqiri and sell Eder to the EPL?

It's not been a fun three months for Inter January signing Eder. Still goal-less with the Nerazzurri since his expensive move from Sampdoria, the Italian international has struggled to adapt to life in the big pond that is the San Siro. Is it a question of time?

Either way, that is the very commodity which the Beneamata has in short supply, and which could ultimately force his departure from a Milanese side attempting to keep its balance sheet in order.

Remember last summer, when another January signing, Xerdan Shaqiri, was sent packing for a small profit to Stoke City, where he has been reasonably successful? This scenario coudl repeat itself, with Inter now willing to listen to any offer made for the Brazilian. Hardly the ringing endorsement which the under-fire Eder was looking for.

Piero Ausilio's recent interview confirmed that Inter's balance sheet could force them to pull the trigger: "Our agreement with Bayern was that we would pay for Shaqiri over two years, whilst Stoke were able to pay us the whole sum upfront".

This, in turn, allowed the Nerazzurri to ask for an advance from the banks, and try to put something in the plus column. With the Swiss star flattering to deceive at the Giuseppe Meazza, the idea didn't take long to take root.

What makes the situation more complicated is that Inter will definitely be paying the outstanding sum they owe Sampdoria for Eder. The two clubs are on great terms, have swapped a lot of players, and have already agreed on the full sale.

Though Ausilio is willing to listen to any offer (with the Premier League notoriously heating its engines), there is one further issue: Eder himself. Billed as a Serie B player when he first earned promotion to Italy's elite, he's always wanted to prove himself... and intensely lobbied the Doriani for the chance to move to the San Siro.

Think he'll want to give up after only 9 games? Think again!
