Corvino goodbye Viola. Napoli: Isla & Benatia.
Pantaleo Corvino and Fiorentina depart ways. The general director quit on Sunday following a humiliating defeat to Juventus.
The director was due to stand down in the summer although there were talks over a one-year contract extension. The Viola’s tumultuous season will lead to further changes in the summer.
From this point of view, the Della Valle family has decided to send out a clear message to the protesting fans.
Despite being grateful to Corvino, Fiorentina have understood their future cannot be tied to a man who has failed to rebuild the side following their qualification to Champions League.
- Isla & Benatia to Napoli?
Mauricio Isla and Mehdi Benatia have been linked to Napoli so Udinese President Giampaolo Pozzo felt to play down transfer talks.
However, it seems clear that the Bianconeri could sell the duo in the summer.
“I am regularly in touch with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis but it is early yet to talk about the transfer market,” explained Pozzo.
“We will have to talk about it at the end of the season. For now, all our players must focus on our campaign.”
- Handanovic on the move
Udinese ace Samir Handanovic is one of the most wanted goalkeepers in Serie A. However, the Slovenian player revealed he will only leave the Bianconeri for a top club.
“There are 10 games left in the season and if we do well we could reach important targets,” said the player following the 2-2 draw to Napoli.
“I am ambitious, but if I will leave Udine it will only be for a top club,” he added.
Milan and Inter could be interested in the player but the Friulani won’t settle for less than €12M and at these conditions a move to Premier League is more likely.
