Former Juventus Coach Antonio Conte believes that his former side should be shooting for the stars with its current squad. His words come ahead of tonight’s Champions League Group game against Sevilla, who currently lead Group H.
The Chelsea gaffer was especially cutting about the Bianconeri’s seven-point lead in Serie A, saying that “When you have the eighth wage bill in the world, you need to look beyond the Scudetto.
“Juventus have made some important investments, which place them among the clubs of a global dimension. When you have a squad like that you need to have big objectives”.
Does Conte think that the Bianconeri have already got the Scudetto sewn up? “Nothing can be taken for granted, but if the competition sell you Higuain and Pjanic, then everything becomes easier”.
The Chelsea Coach then spoke of his Euro 2016 Campaign, which saw Italy beat Spain and Belgium before falling to Germany in the quarter-finals.
“Had we beaten Germany, we would have gone all the way. We had the match point.
“That squad was a great group, one big unit, strong both in the physical and mental departments. We’d beaten Spain brilliantly, and forced Germany to play against their nature”.
“Would I return to Coach in Italy? Definitely. But my present and, I hope, my immediate future are called Chelsea. I want to enjoy it as much as I can”.
