CM SCOUTING: No Yaya or Biglia? Luka Milivojevic is Inter’s plan B
With Ever Banega set to arrive to the San Siro at the beginning of next season, Marcelo Brozovic who’s considered unsellable by manager Roberto Mancini and Geoffrey Kondogbia who’s going to be given a second chance after his first spell at the club, Inter’s midfielder is still waiting for one more talented playmaker.
Yaya Touré and Lucas Biglia are believed to be Mancini’s and the club’s top priorities respectively. The Italian tactician would like to rejoin the Cote d’Ivoire International in Milan, but both Piero Ausilio and Erick Thohir are not willing to invest a huge amount of money on a player who will turn 33 this month. Toure’s decline was quite evident during Man City’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals and given his high economic request, there are not too many chances to see him wearing the Inter shirt next season.
Lucas Biglia is not the youngest midfielder out there too, but the player’s price-tag represents a problem much bigger than his age. Lazio will only listen to offers in the region of € 25-30 million, definitely too much for the nerazzurri whose finances are not solid enough to seal these kind of transfers.
So which could be the club’s plan B if both Yaya and Biglia won’t join? According to CM.com’s Andrea Distaso, Luka Milivojevic could be the right man at the right time. A former target of Atalanta, the 25-year-old Serbian midfielder is a product of Red Star Belgrade academy. After making his senior debut at the age of 16, Milivojevic had moved to Anderlecht in 2013, but his adventure in Belgium only lasted 12 months, due to lack of playing time.
In summer 2014 he signed with Olympiacos on a loan deal. The Greek club decide to make his switch permanent one year later and Milivojevic is now believed to be one of the brightest star midfielders in Europe. He combines physical strength with class and personality. Scorer of three goals in 22 games this season he has an astonishing long-range shooting and his price-tag is believed to be in the region of € 5-10 million.
