CM EXCLUSIVE: Handanovic close to extending Inter contract

As Calciomercato.com can understand, Inter and Samir Handanovic agreed terms for the Slovenia International’s contract extension, despite the club are still not releasing an official statement concerning the deal.

Negotiations for the goalkeeper’s contract renewal were particularly complex as both sides wanted their requested to be fully satisfied. First of all, Samir Handanovic’s agent Federico Pastorello is also the representative of Yuto Nagatomo, whose contract with the San Siro side is due to expire in June 2016.

During the talks for Handanovic’s contract, Pastorello tried also to make a bid to renew Nagatomo’s agreement with the Nerazzurri, but his efforts were in vain. At the same time, Handanovic wanted Inter to add a € 10 million buyout clause to his contract, but, once again, Inter did not accept the former Udinese conditions.

Calciomercato.com’s sources confirmed that despite these small disputes, the agreement between the two sides did not fall apart and the 31 year old is now ready to sign a new contract worth €2.5 million per year until 2019. The Slovenia International joined Inter in 2012 following a € 12 million deal from Udinese.
