Chinese takeover of AC Milan is almost a done deal
The long-term project presented by the group has been approved by Berlusconi. New Chinese owners will invest money to strengthen the team as well as to build a new club-owned stadium in Milan.
Negotiations are ongoing and the deal is almost done. Il Corriere della Sera reports that Finivest chiefs are optimistic over a positive end of negotiations, so much so a new fund will be established in the next few days and seven-eight investors (including Evergrande group) will be tasked with the job of covering some key roles in the management of the club.
It has still to be evaluated how long Berlusoni will remain honorary president of the club. He would like to remain in charge for the next three years, whilst the Chinese group would only prefer to have him at the club for the next two seasons only.
