Chelsea make improved bid for Napoli defender Koulibaly

Chelsea have made an improved bid for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly. The Senegalese central defender impressed for the partenopei last season and his agent has warned the club that his client could be considering to be leaving the club if not offered a new contract with pay rise.

According to Sky Italia, Chelsea have put on the table € 45 million and Napoli are considering the offer of the Premier League giants as they could sign Torino centre-back Nikola Maksimovic to replace Koulibaly.

Maksimovic could cost somewhere around € 20 million and Napoli could register a huge capital gain after signing Koulibaly in a £ 5.25 million deal from Genk in 2014.

Sarri, however, could block Koulibaly's exit. After seeing Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain joining Juventus in a € 90 million deal this week, Napoli boss might ask the club to keep the star defender in the squad for one more season at least.
