Chelsea target De Vrij could sign new contract with release clause
According to today’s edition of Il Messaggero, Lazio are already planning to offer the Dutchman a five-year contract extension, though the Serie A side could also decide to add a release clause in the player’s contract.
The Italian paper claims that De Vrij’s release clause could be in the region of € 35 million, which would make him an easy target to sign for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
De Vrij has one goal in seven appearances with Lazio this term. The 24-year-old moved to Lazio in summer 2014 but could only rack up 47 appearances since then due to a serious injury that had kept him out of action for almost two years.
