Chelsea boss Conte explains Oscar sale

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has discussed Oscar’s sale with British media. The Brazilian attacking midfielder is set to leave the Stamford Bridge in January to join former Tottenham manager Ande Villas Boas at Shanghia SIPG for a stunning transfer fee of € 60 million.

Conte has explained why the player is set to leave the South-West London based club in January.

“He [Oscar] has had a great start to the season. We were playing with a 4-3-3 system, but he struggled with game time with a new formation [3-4-3]. He’s a very young player and sometimes there are difficult situations to be faced. The situation, however, is still not clear, we’ll know more over the next few days.”

Oscar, 25, has one assist in 11 appearances with the Blues so far this season, but has been spending almost two months out of Chelsea’s starting XI as the last game he played from the beginning was the EFL Cup clash against West Ham on the 26th of October 2016.
