Chelsea and City in battle for Aubameyang
The Mirror online claims that Chelsea and Manchester City will go head to head to try to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 27-year-old is expected to leave the Bundesliga side at the end of the current campaign and it’s believed that the asking price will be somewhere in the region of £65 million and the Premier League duo are in pole-position to land him.
The Gabon international has been a revelation at the German club netting 87 times in 152 appearances, City have already expressed interest in him in August but ultimately failed in their attempts to finalise a deal. Despite the interest from England, there will almost certainly be competition from Spain and France with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also rumoured to be in the hunt. The Spanish giants however, are currently banned from purchasing new players in the next two transfer windows for breaking FIFA regulations.
