Chelsea. 900 million arrives from Nike: Conte dreams of a transfer market of gold

The Premier League continues to be in a league of its own when it comes do marketing deals. After Manchester United’s deal with kit manufacturer Adidas, Chelsea have today announced and massive new deal with Nike. From season 2017-18, the West London will switch from wearing the Adidas kit that they have worn for the past six years, switching to rival manufacturer Nike in a 15-year-deal worth €900 million in total.

The new cash injection will be music to the ears of coach Antonio Conte who should he survive his maiden campaign in the Premier League, will have an enormous treasure chest waiting for him to spend on reinforcements next summer. The Italian tactician has also expressed the need to bring in new players in January on the back of the summer signings of Marcos Alonso, David Luiz, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi.

With John Terry, Branislav Ivanović, Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas all looking set to depart, there will certainly be space for new recruits; the last two particularly pleasing to Juventus and Milan respectively.
