Champions League, Sampaoli: ‘Football is a collective game, Juve a sum of its parts’

Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli talked to media ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League opening clash against Juventus.

Juventus spent € 90 million to buy Higuain, Sevilla spent € 60 in the whole window...
“Football is a collective game, if we were just individuals, it would have been much easier for Juve. If we play as a team, like we know, everything can happen.”

Are you going to change your tactical plans?
“I can’t do that, I can’t refuse having an attacking mentality, because that’s how we play every day. That’s what I am trying to transmit to my players.”

Are you going to play Sirigu?
“No, Sergio Rico is going to start on goal.”

    Juventus are favourite...
“We should play with passion and for the shirt. It’ll be an extreme game, because Juventus are a strong side. We’ll give everything, playing an even game would mean being at their same level. What I want is to see a team ready to fight against such a strong team.”
