Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez scored one goal each in the second half of the Santiago Bernabeu showdown, though wasteful AS Roma missed three chances in front of Keilor Navas with Edin Dzeko and Mohammed Salah who did not manage to find the net.
Real Madrid goalkeeper also saved a short-range attempt by Giallorossi defender Kostas Manolas in the second half.
