Sampdoria: Cassano sacked via Telegram, the photograph
“The fact is it never happened,” where the words spoken by the lawyer Romei, a director of Sampdoria when confronted by journalists who wanted an explanation as to why the port club had sacked Antonio Cassano via a telegram. An indiscretion however, that is now proven to be true after Telenord Ligure published a copy of the document sent by Samp to the Bari born striker.
THE FACTS
At the end of the 3-0 defeat to Genoa, Cassano and Romei had a confrontation in the dressing room that resulted in some abusive comments from the former Italian international that were aimed at Romei and the club itself.
THE TERMINATION
In the contract of Cassano, there was a clause which gave the blucerchiati the right to terminate the agreement in the event of unsuitable behaviour on the part of the player. The telegram states that the club has exercised the clause to force the termination of his current deal. The message reads:
“Dear Mr Cassano, taking account of the offensive expressions aimed at the end of the game vs Genoa inside the locker room, seriously detrimental to the image of the club and of its senior management, we are activating the immediate resolution of the work contract ex art. 1456 cc. taking advantage of the termination clause provided for in point 8) of ' ' the other scriptures ' ' within the meaning of art. 3.5 of the bc signed in date 27/08/2015".
