Carpi striker Mbakogu misses not one, but TWO penalties in key relegation tie
Let's redefine the expression "bad day at the office", shall we?
No, it isn't discovering that your tube station is closed, getting in late to be yelled at by your boss and returning home at 11pm... it's failing to score two penalties in a decisive game for Carpi, who needed to beat Lazio to overtake rivals Palermo, who are outside the relegation zone.
In all fairness to him, the 23-year-old striker didn't kick either penalty badly, Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti diving to his left to save the first one.
Here's the problem: Mbakogu went right AGAIN for his second effort... and promptly saw it be saved again. Talk about being spooked from the spot!#Marchetti!!!!! #Carpi can't believe they've missed a golden chance to go ahead & avoid relegation. 0-0 #CarpiLazio pic.twitter.com/f4O0tO6hSl

It's not been an easy season for Mbakogu, who had only netted once before today in Serie A football... that's right, before, as the Nigerian striker proceeded to net a goal seven minutes from time... only for Carpi to already be three goals down.#Mbakogu, go hide! #CarpiLazio pic.twitter.com/z7XVm0mop6
