Calciopoli: the trial goes on.
New hearing date today at the Court of Naples for the Calciopoli trial. Among the witnesses called by prosecutors Narducci and Capuano the former referee Nucini, Gianfelice Facchetti and Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini did not turn up. The former referee designator Paolo Bergamo was expelled from the court for his repeated and unwanted comments. These are the witnesses who spoke today:
Luca Baraldi (former Parma director): "In 2001 Sacchi organized a dinner with the referees designators Bergamo and Pairetto at Tanzi's home. In 2002 we negotiated Vaio with Inter for a long time, then there was the Super Cup with Juventus and we close the deal with them for about 27 and a half million euro, with Sacchi who told me on the phone. Without that money Parma would have gone bust. During the negotiation Giraudo threatened me. I think he wanted to say that Parma could have been relegated in Serie B. I didn't say anything at that time because I thought it was just a personal view, then we managed to stay in Serie A after the play-off".
Giorgio Corbelli (former president of Napoli): "I never said that Moggi wanted Zeman at Napoli to hurt the team, instead he believed he could do well. The most influencial players did not want him, as this season at Roma with Totti who told Ranieri: either you go or we do not play".
