Brozovic and Inter edging towards a renewal
The Croatian initially refused the €1.8 million-a-year deal he was offered by the Nerazzurri, with his agent and he trying to force Inter into offering more.
Brozovic wanted to be paid like the dressing room’s best-remunerated players (Perisic, Kondogbia et al), but encountered Inter’s refusal, and willingness to put him on the market.
That said, nobody was willing to pay the €23 million asking price, giving Inter the advantage to negotiate a deal where both sides meet half-way.
What we’re hearing, however, is that this won’t prevent Inter from signing another midfielder, with Joao Mario still the number one option, and Moussa Sissoko just behind him, valued between €35 and €40 million.
Though Financial Fair Play still looms, it appears that Inter will use the January window to sell. Brozovic, despite his renewal, is still on the market, as are Stefan Jovetic… and Eder, who is still being courted from China.
