Brocchi in trouble? Berlusconi had long phonecall with Galliani over Milan's woes

Milan's season is going from worse... to even worse.

As if the club's recent sacking of Sinisa Mihajlovic hadn't been unpopular enough, the Rossoneri have now reached a new low: a week after drawing to relegation-threatened Carpi, they lost 2-1 today to a side that is all but doomed, Verona.

This is the same Verona who took an eternity to even win their first Serie A game, and who have been slated to go down for months now.

It appears that Silvio Berlusconi is already very concerned, and may be getting a case of sacker's regret. According to Sky Sport Italia, he had a long phone call with Adriano Galliani after this afternoon's game, going over what hasn't worked so far.

Milan's hierarchy has repeatedly emphasized that Brocchi isn't just there as an interim coach, he's supposed to provide good football, too. So far, this has been sadly lacking, his "5% at a time" plan proving to be all too literal.

Though the season appears to be over, time is already running out for Brocchi: the Rossoneri have a Coppa Italia final to play, and it may end up being their only ticket to Europe, with Sassuolo just one point away and set to overtake Milan for the second season in a row.

That team's coach? Eusebio Di Francesco. Talk about a fitting ending!
