Boateng leaves Schalke, free to sign with Milan
As we revealed a few days ago, the Ghaneian trequartista has already agreed to the details of his contract with Milan, which will tie him to the Rossoneri for six months from January 1st, with an optional renewal till June 30th, 2017.
Schalke are thus saving half of his annual salary, which was valid until June 30th of next year.
Boateng’s agent, Pastorello, recently declared that Sinisa Mihajlovic had already given the green lift to the move, and that Milan were only waiting for Schalke to release Boateng.
The former Portsmouth player made 100 appearances in Serie A with the Diavolo, netting 17 goals and winning the 2010-2011 Scudetto with the club.
Check out Schalke’s statement below:
“FC Schalke 04 and Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng have decided to mutually terminate his contract at the club. The terms of the agreement will remain undisclosed.
“The midfielder was signed from AC Milan in August 2013.
“He made 60 competitive appearances (46 in the Bundesliga, twelve in European competitions and two in the DFB Cup), in which he scored seven goals. The 28-year-old will become available to play for other clubs on 1st January 2016”.
