    Benassi: "Ventura the new ct? "I can't speak highly enough of him"

    Marco Benassi has been speaking at the Italian national team's training base at Coverciano. He was asked about the impending appointment of his current club boss Giampiero Ventura to which he replied; "I don't know if he will be the next Azzurri coach but I cannot speak highly enough of him. For two years he has helped me improve both as a person and a player".

    He continued; "Conte and Ventura have something in common for example, the desire to get their ideas across to the players. The thing that I noticed in the past few days is that the intensity of the workouts is very high. We are trying to give the best we can to prove we merit selection. It would be a dream for me to go to a major tournament".
