    Balotelli set to skip Torino

Mario Balotelli looks no closer to a return to Serie A action.

The former Liverpool, Manchester City and Inter Milan hitman is still struggling with the same sports hernia injury that kept him out of AC Milan’s embarrassing 4-0 home defeat to Napoli.

The club was expecting Super Mario to recover during international week. Instead, Balotelli is still not training with his team-mates at Milanello, instead keeping to the gym for a double recovery session.

News is now emergenging that the Diavoli medical staff is doing everything possible not to expedite a return to the pitch, but rather make sure that Balotelli only plays when he is ready. Sports hernias recur very regularly, and can seemingly go away one day before coming back worse than before on the next.

This means that Super Mario won’t be available for the Rossoneri’s weekend clash with in-form Torino. Balotelli has enjoyed his second stint with boyhood club Milan, scoring against Udinese and being one of the only positive notes against Inter and Genoa.

Both owner Silvio Berlusconi and manager Sinisa Mihajlovic consider him to be a player of prime importance, whose personality on the pitch will be counted on to help the Rossoneri climb back up the table.

As things stand, the club’s medical staff hope that he’ll be in better shape when they check up on him early next week, so that he may be available against Sassuolo.
