The President of Atletico Madrid, Enrique Cerezo, has made a bold declaration that his star striker, Frenchman Antoine Griezmann, will not be leaving the club at the end of the season. He explained that; “Neither Real Madrid or any other team for that matter, has the possibility to hire Griezmann” when quizzed about the 25-year-olds future at the club.
 

Griezmann is one of the hottest names on the transfer market and after his achievements in the summer with France, has only increased his market-value. Having dispensed with the services of his agent so he can conduct his off-field activities himself, the player has been linked with a host of top European clubs including Atleti’s city rivals, Manchester United and PSG. Figures of around €100 million are being banded around in the press as speculation continues as to where he will be lining-up next season.  

With his current boss, Diego Simeone, set to leave Atletico at the end of the season, Griezmann, despite reiterating that he is happy at his current employer, is also expected to head to pastures new; the only person that seems confident he will remain is the patron himself.
