    Aston Villa, OFFICIAL: Di Matteo sacked after just 124 days

    Now it's official, the BBC has reported that Championship side Aston Villa has parted company with Italian tactician Roberto Di Matteo. The 46-year-old was appointed in Juve shortly after Chinese businessman Dr Tony Xia took control of the club but after a poor start which has left the former European Cup winners floundering in the lower reaches of the table, the pre-season promotion favourites are now looking for their fifth boss inside the last 12 months.

    Since October 25th last year when Tim Sherwood was relieved of his duties, the Villains have seen Remi Garde, Eric Black and Di Mattoe come and go as they attempt to bounce back into the Premier League after last season's relegation. The writing has been on the wall for the Italian for several weeks now after his team managed only one win since the start of the new campaign, back on August 25th against Rotherham. A run of nine games without a victory has seen Di Matteo's short tenure come to an abrupt end as Villa search for yet another new manager. 

    The club has just released a statement via their official website confirming the news.
