Arsenal full-back Nacho Monreal has been speaking to Radio Euskadi about recent reports linking him to a move to Athletic Bilbao. The 30-year-old, who was born in Pamplona explained that; “I have great affection for Athletic but I think only about the present, not what could happen in the future although I am keeping all my options open. I have some good friends already at the club such as Raul Garcia”.
 

Monreal has made 108 appearances for the Gunners since his move from Malaga in 2013 and has been a crucial part of Arsene Wenger’s team’s rise to the top of the Premier League as they look to win their first Premier League title since 2004. After signing a new long-term deal in January this year, it looked as though the player would see out the rest of his career in North London but interest from back in his native country has sparked rumours that he could consider a move back home.
