Arsenal, Henry; "Wenger to coach England? I don't think so"

Arsene Wenger has become one of the front-runners to replace Sam Allardyce as the new coach of the England football team. One of his former players at Arsenal, French striker Thierry Henry, has told Sky Sports that he doesn’t believe the 66-year-old tactician will take charge of the Three Lions, explaining that; “I believe that Arsene has to be involved in the day to day running of a football club and is still driven to return the Premier League title to the Emirates” He continued; “Honestly, I don’t think he will become the next coach of England. Who would actually want the job? I have no idea, it’s a very difficult position to undertake”.

Henry spent eight seasons at the Gunners under the tutelage of Wenger, scoring 174 goals in 254 appearances for the club. The pair won two Premier League titles during their time together and the Frenchman was part of the last title winning Arsenal team way back in 2004. He's currently part of Roberto Martinez's coaching staff for the Belgian national team.
