Another toy boy on the the Old Lady’s radar: Juventus eye Empoli wonderkid
Serie A giants Juventus are keeping tabs on a promising central midfielder playing for Empoli’s Primavera team.
Calciomercato.com has exclusively learned the Old Lady will meet the Tuscans’ DS Marcello Carli in the next few weeks trying to secure the 19-year-old Alberto Picchi.
Empoli’s president Fabrizio Corsi believes the product of the Azzurri academy will be the next one to claim a starring role at the Castellani after that Elseid Hysaj and Daniele Rugani moved to bigger clubs last summer and Lorenzo Tonelli and Riccardo Saponara will probably follow the same path of their former teammates at the end of the current campaign.
Juventus had already tried to sign Picchi in the last winter transfer window, but Empoli refused to listen to any offer for their young and talented midfielder.
Circumstances given, the Bianconeri know it will be very difficult to sign Picchi in the summer, that’s why they will try to get an option to buy the player in the future during their next meeting with Empoli, a formula they’ve already used to sign Daniele Rugani and, maybe, Domenico Berardi.
