Ibra bored until the next renewal, or change of team...
Is thirty years too long to play football at a high level while still having fun? For Zlatan Ibrahimovic maybe yes. During a press conference in Sweden, the AC Milan striker has openly declared his distaste for the game that is also (indeed only at this point) his work: "It has become routine, the time has come to think about something else. It’s hard to play even with my children. I think one should stop when you are at the top, not when you have gray hair".
Shocking comments? Maybe so, but if you think about the character, perhaps not really. Ibra is the type of player who has the famous 'tummy ache' and leaves Inter for Barcelona's dream, and then leaves, defeated a year later. One that goes to Juventus, wins a scudetto and the following year, before Calciopoli explodes breaks with Capello and plans his great escape. One who gets annoyed with his teammates for a bad pass, but that it is ready, the next moment, to distribute hugs and smiles.
So rather than the Swede being tired prematurely (as happened to his countryman Bjorn Borg, who retired from tennis at age 26), this looks more like a hit on the head, something that will change in 24 hours.
Maybe after a renewal of the contract, and after yet another change of team, or after the release of the announced autobiography, cunningly launched from these shocking statements ...
