Allegri: 'If Rugani were to make a mistake, you'd all bury him'

Max Allegri has said some very intersting things about Juventus' defeder, Daniele Rugani.

One of Serie A's most promising defenders last season, he moved to Juventus in summer from Empoli.

He's played very little so far, and if our report is accurate, he's very likely to skip this weekend's Scudetto clash with Napoli, despite injuries to Giorgio Chiellini and Martin Caceres.

“Rugani has four of Europe’s best defenders ahead of him in the pecking order" Allegri told assembled media in Friday's conference.

"People shouldn’t put pressure on him. Everyone wants him to play, but were he to make a mistake you’d all bury him. Let’s not rush things, he’s grown a lot”.

A very valid point. Often criticized for not playing youngsters enough, one could look at things from the Tuscan coach's perspective, who is obviously looking after his players' confidence.

Allegri also addressed our exclusive report, which has him joining Chelsea at the end of the season. #

“I’m very happy at Juventus. There’s nothing true in what has been said and written. I can’t deny reports that aren’t based on any truth. Can this kind of stuff destabilize the team? Absolutely not, we’re professionals!”
