Allegri: Bonucci won't start, Lemina-Pjanic doubt, Higuain returning to best shape
Beyond clearing up his opinions about potential signing Blaise Matuidi (“I don’t like to talk about players who belong to other teams…”) and Juventus’ Serie A rivals (“No-one should talk of Inter, Napoli or Roma being in crisis”), the Tuscan manages had a few other highlights, namely about Simone Zaza’s departure.
"Zaza is in London and he has the chance to go to West Ham,” Allegri told assembled media at the Juventus Centre, “Luca Marrone is on his way out of this weekend’s game, as well as Leonardo Bonucci, for personal problems”.
The Coach went on: “The only doubt I have was between Mario Lemina and Miralem Pjanic. The latter is in good shape, but I need to evaluate everything. Higuain is very close to his best shape, but Mandzukic will start tomorrow. We’ll definitely play with a three-man defence, at least from the start, then we’ll see as the game goes along. Benatia or Rugani will replace Bonucci”.
Allegri also spoke of the Bianconeri’s squad: “I don’t mind starting with an incomplete squad, but it’s normal when we play two games like these during this period. I don’t, however, like the fact that some players are on the way out, but our squad was almost complete”.
There was further positive news, with Kwadwo Asamoha’s scintillating performance against Fiorentina being analyzed: “He is back, he’s important. He’s got personality, great technique… what matters is that he’s always reliable”.
