Agent: Spurs, Milan target Umtiti 'wants to play Champions League football'
This is interesting! It looks like talented Olympique Lyonnais defender Samuel Umtiti could be playing for another club next season.
Pursued by a number of clubs including Tottenham, Umtiti was chased by Napoli and Milan last season before officially announcing that he was staying in Lyon.
Now, however, the 22-year-old belongs to a club that is rich in talent and has a reputation for selling players at a high price.
Could this be the year he leaves? It very likely is, if his agent (his brother) is to be believed!
"He doesn't strongly desire to leave," Yannick Umtiti told Eurosport, "he's improving a lot and he has the opportunity to play a lot".
"The Coaching staff is confident in him and the president [Jean-Michel Aulas] loves him.
"However, he has some objectives he wants to reach, including playing for the French national team.
"He needs visibility, to play in the Champions League and play for a squad can be competitive team".
A precocious talent, it feels like Umtiti has been strutting his stuff in France for ages, racking up 125 Ligue 1 appearances... yet he is only 22.
