Agent unveils involvement of Italian manager in Allardyce-gate

The Allardyce-gate is sparking controversies around England and Europe as the former England boss was filmed by the Telegraph while advising fake businessman about how to get around FA rules on third-part ownership.

Allardyce is not the only personality of English football catch by the English tabloid. Leeds owner Massimo Cellino and unlicensed players agent Pino Pagliara have also been filmed by the Telegraph while giving similar advices to other fake businessmen businessmen.

Pino Pagliara was handed a five-year ban in 2005 for match fixing. Pagliara was stopped by Italian police at a checkpoint on the 14th of June 2005. During controls, police found a small suitcase with € 250.000 cash in there and a contract form of Paraguayan footballer Ruben Maldonado.

It was the beginning of investigations over Serie B clash Genoa-Venezia which had been played three days before. Genoa won the game, earning Serie A promotion but a few weeks later, police found out that money in possession of Mr. Pagliara was how much Genoa paid to fix the game. The grifone were relegated to Italy’s third division after investigations.

Talking to Italian press Agency ANSA, Pagliara said: “I was cheated by the Telegraph, but the truth is that I’ve never made any transfer operation with managers. There is also an Italian manager involved, but I can’t say if he works in the Premier League or he’s returned to Italy. English are good when it comes to judging, but corruption is endemic. Even chief scouts steal over there.”
