Agent of Sturaro: "Napoli and Lazio wanted him but he's vital to Juve"

The agent of Stefano Sturaro, Carlo Volpi, has been speaking to TuttoJuve about his client’s future. He explained that; “Stefano is currently working to get back fit for the team and within two-three weeks he should be available”.

Asked about his preferred position Volpi stated that; “He’s better in central midfield, in the national team, Conte used his on the left but he certainly prefers playing in the centre so he can influence the game more”.

He was then asked if he was close to leaving Turin this summer to which he replied; “Napoli and Lazio both tried to sign him but Juve has explained to Stefano that they do not intend to release him. Also Southampton and Sunderland were interested but these offers were never even considered”.

Finally, when asked about the competition for places at the club he declared that; “The new faces have responded in a positive manner, to see someone like Higuain in the strikers role is really pleasing”.
