Agent: 'Fiorentina not a top team, Badelj could play for Barca or Man City'
Fans of Fiorentina are not going to like this.
According to his agent, Viola midfielder Milan Badelj is very unlikely to still be at the Artemio Franchi next season.
"There's a 90% chance that we won't renew," Dejan Joksimovic told Viola News "Fiorentina haven't paid me, and there are teams who are both interested in him and who are ready to offer a better deal."
Not content with sowing doubt, Joksimovic added that "Fiorentina have gone as far as they can. They're close to the Champions League, but they're not competing in it. If they lose someone to injury or suspension, they haven't got a squad capable of replacing them".
In saying these things, Joksimovic is rubbing salt in a wound that has seen Fiorentina struggle for form ever since certain midfielders (especially Badelj) have been difficult to replace.
"Fiorentina is a good team, but not a top team. They're close, but Milan himself could already play for someone like Barcelona, Atletico Madrid or Manchester City".
Badelj, 27, has made 37 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina since moving to Italy from Hamburg.
