AC Milan to have poor January transfer window as closing date delayed to February

Today’s edition of Tuttosport reports that the closing date for AC Milan’s takeover will be delayed to February, leaving the rossoneri short of cash for the winter transfer window.

Representatives of Sino-Europe are going to meet those of Fininvest next week to carry on negotiations for the club’s sale, but the Italian paper claims that the closing date is likely to be postponed to February.

AC Milan have scheduled a shareholders’ meeting for the 13th of December and Sino Europe are still expected to finalize the deal by that date. If, however, the Chinese consortium fails to acquire the majority share in the club by mid December, the closing date will be delayed and postponed to February.

This comes as a terrible news for every AC Milan fan out there (and for Vincenzo Montella as well) as the club’s sale in December would have provided the rossoneri the cash they need to register the first signings of the new Chinese era. No takeover means no money and almost no transfer activity at all, unless AC Milan sell some of their stars in January.
