AC Milan, Sosa to start over Localtelli vs. Chievo Verona
The rossoneri will travel to Verona’s Bentegodi stadium on Saturday night with Riccardo Montolivo who will be watching his teammates from the sofa as the unlucky Italy international has just picked up another serious knee injury.
The big question ahead of the game is: who will replace the team’s captain against Chievo?
According to our reporter Daniele Longo, Jose Sosa is the favourite to start over youngster Manuel Localtelli who scored his first Serie A goal against Sassuolo in the last game and was given his first call up to U-21 Italy national team.
Montella believes it is better not to give Locatelli too many responsibilities and is set to start the Argentinean midfielder in front of defence, a role that he’s still not fully confident with.
Sosa, a former Bayern Munich and Napoli player, is still a bit slow and Montella wants him to move the ball faster than what he’s currently doing.
The aeroplanino tried him in that position in a mid-week friendly game against Chiasso last week, but the next Serie A game against Chievo is also a big challenge for the former Besiktas as he could fail to get regular time if he doesn’t impress in that position given that both Andrea Bertolacci and Mati Fernandez could return to action in less than a month.
Meantime, Carlos Bacca is still the favourite to start the game as a sole striker despite Gianluca Lapadula’s good shape.
