AC Milan resume interest in Argentinean defender

AC Milan have resumed their interest in Argentinean defender Mateo Musacchio who was a target of the rossoneri during the last summer transfer window. The Serie A giants tried to sign Musacchio in the previous transfer window, but poor finances prevented Adriano Galliano from offering a mere loan deal with option to buy which Villareal didn’t even take into account.

Now, according to reports in Italy, AC Milan have resumed their interest in the 26-year-old whose arrival would give Vincenzo Montella some more choices at the back given that Gabriel Paletta and Alessio Romagnoli do not have their shoulders covered as Cristian Zapata has just returned from a long injury and Gustavo Gomez has yet to adapt to Italian football.

Tuttosport claims that Musacchio would be available for € 25-30 million, a sum that new owners could be open to invest to add depth in the squad and allow Montella’s lads to battle it out for a Champions League spot.
Benfica’s Lindelof and Sao Paolo’s starlet Rodrigo Caio are the alternatives to the Argentinean defender. The Swedish centre-back has a release clause of € 30 million, the Brazilian one is also being chased by Zenit St. Petersburg.
