AC Milan, Fassone calls Ambrosini
New owners have already hired a new CEO and GM, Marco Fassone, as well as a new sporting director, Massimo Mirabelli, currently working at Inter as chief scout.
With Adriano Galliani and Barbara Berlusconi set to leave the club, however, the revolution inside AC Milan’s control room, however, is far from being complete.
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fassone has also asked Massimo Ambrosini to have a role in the club’s control room. The Italian paper claims that new owners want a club’s legend to enter the control room and Ambrosini is one of the names on Fassone’s shortlist.
Ambrosini would initially have a role of representative, but with the perspective of getting a more complex and important role inside the club which, however, the Gazzetta dello Sport does not specify.
Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Costacurta have also been linked with returning to their former club with an undefined role in the control room, even if Maldini has recently denied that any contact has been made between him and new owners.
