Valencia rival Marseille for Chelsea defender
The Marseille target isn’t having the great time at Chelsea, recovering from a long injury layoff and generally being bench material at Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year-old is Coach Marcelino’s first target to bolster the defence. Valencia are looking to reinforce their back line and make a concerted push for the top places.
Recently acquired by Frank McCourt - the former owner of the LA Dodgers - Marseille has been spending more, trying to return to its former elite status.
This has included nabbing Dimitri Payet from West Ham, as well as Bafetimbi Gomis (on loan) from Swansea.
In truth, Zouma would like to stay and fight for his spot at Stamford Bridge, but the arrival of Antonio Rudiger will only make things more complicated for him.
Signed by the Blues for €14.6 million back in 2014, he’s only played 47 Premier League games all season.
